Dear Family,
Hey it was so wonderful to get all of your letters this week. Sorry if I scared anybody:) but it sounded like everyone learned from it.
This past week had been kind of a jug jug step by step week. Although it was a very long week got through it and a lot of cool things happend. The robbing really slowed down the work, Really kind of frustrating. Along with all of our stuff the most valuble thing they took was our phone and our planners. Why you may ask? espcially because the phone was probably 5 dollars. Well between our planner and our phone we lost pretty much all of our contacts!!! It was almost impossible to get ahold of anybody to make apointments, so this past week has been a ton of beating on doors with no results. ugh.... we have recovered most of our contacts thanks to our area book and the work is starting to speed up again. This next week should be much faster!! fingers crossed.
Oh ya I have to explain the situation with why we need to decide to stay 3 weeks longer or shorter. So here is the deal. In a normal transfer or period of time you are in an area is about 6 weeks or so. As you might have notice I am aproching my 9th week to finish my first transfer here in angola. The reason we had a 9 week transfer is to cordinate better with the new missionaries coming in next week and to make things easier on the new mission pressident when he arrives. So here comes the dilema, president Walton told us we need to decide this week whether we want to extend or shorten. I am going to tell him tomorrow in our interview. I have prayed and thought about it a lot.... I am going to extend for another 3 weeks:)

Dear family,
Well this is going to be a different letter this week:) haha so much stuff happened this week and sorry I wont be able to put on pictures and I will tell you why in a second.
First things first. This week we had a zone activity, sorry mom I know this is going to make you jealous:) So we went to an island right off the shore of angola, called the slave island. It is called the because back in the day as the portugal and other contries would ship slave out from africa this was a major island that they would ship them to first to make it more excesible for ships to pick them up. But I will be honest none of us payed to much attention to the history of the place and much as the beach!! Wow that was one of the most pretty places I have ever been. From the beach you could see all of angola with all the the huge buildings to the byhoos( small shake huts made out of cement.) It was so amazing to sit back and look at the city to give you a refresser of why we are here. then we just played sports and made sand castles and all that fun stuff. Yes even walk along the beach and waves would crash up onto you and as the water receiding having sand cover your feet:) ya it was super fun. I got tons of amazing pictures and good memories. I am really going to miss president and sister walton. they are going to be leaving soon because there time is up here on the mission.
The baptism was amazing! she was so excited and yestarday she recieve the holy ghost and confirmed a member of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints!! She has a ton of friends in the church so I feel like the transfer from us to members will be easy.
So this past week my companion and I should president a house the we had found through a member. He and sister walton just loved it. So they already gave them the church contract for the house and it is getting confirmed right now!! but we will see. that is one thing about angolan realestate is you dont have the house untill you have the keys in you hands and it is fully paid for, but chances are we have it and will move in the next 2 weeks or so.
So this is the very interesting part of this week which just happend yestarday. Know that I wouldnt tell you about this unless president told me to tell you. Last night my companion and I were just getting do with a lesson and were on our way to another appointment. It was late and we were in kind of a hurry so we cut through some roads and some alleys as we have many times before. out of the corner of my eye I saw two guys running. When a feeling of calmness just came over me. Suddenly the two men surrounding my companion, my companion being much shorter of the two of us. They yelled "Vou ti matar" meaning I will kill you, and they also started yelling money. I grab one of the guys by the shoulders and held him there as my companion was quaralling with the other. I Had a feeling that I shouldnt resist and shouldnt fight them. From the corner of my eye I could see my companion taking off his backpack. So I let this man that I had in my hands go and handed him my backpack. They grabed our bags and took off through the streets. Nether my companion or I were hurt. As we continued walking we got to talking and Elder Walker had seen a handle in the guys pocket that took his bag. We are not quite sure if it was a gun or a knife but it was a tender mersy of the lord that calmness had overcome both my companion and I. If that feeling of calmness hadnt have come we might have fought with them and the results could have been a whole lot worse. I know he was guiding us and protecting us. He does every min of the day.
Dont be afraid or anything. We feel fine and I still feel safe as I walk the streets today. but I love youguys and I hope you have a great week:) by the way I have something to ask of you really quick. I have an option to ether shorten my mission three week or to lengthen it three. What should I do? I will explain latter:) well love you guys have a great week!

Hey family!!!!~
Hey sorry this is going to be a really quick one this week we hung ourselves on time with an apointment we are going to have to ruch to.
It sounds like trek was amazing and so very spiritually experiences that accourd And some great testimony builders. I am just glad everybody is safe and made it out alive! I prayed nowone would be killed :) But hey I love you guys so much and I hope you have an awesome week. Next week I will try and send you some pictures of all my experiences so far on the mission. and next week we are haveing a baptisme :) we are pretty excited!

Hey Fam!!
sorry this week is going to have to been a short e-mail. we dont just have to much time.
But things here in angola are going great and i am still loving it!!! Thanks for all your letters also its always great to hear from all yall :) But it sounds like this has been just a crazy week for all of you!! Man and treck is starting up! you will have to let me know how all that goes!

Hey how goes it family!!!
Wow so this week was some of the most progress I have ever seen with all of the people we are teaching. I will just paste my letter I wrote to the president because it pretty much explains all that is going on with them.
President Walton,
This up coming week we do not have any investigators getting baptised but now we have two that are preparing to enter into the waters of baptism. The firsts name is Jendira. Jandira has been investigating the church for a while and only yestarday did she finally feel ready to take the step towards baptism. For a while we werent able to get over to her house because she has both school and work and has a really hard time finding other time, but she was able to come up with a time to be able sit with with us which is once a week on saturdays. Anyways we were talking with her and we had a feeling to ask her if she felt ready for baptism and she said she was so she picked a date and the date is the 9th of this next coming month.
The next investigator with a baptismal date is Eva. Evas baptismal date is about a month from now and we will see about her. she finally decided to get baptised because an even that happened in her life. She had gone to the doctor for a cancer test and was super scared about it. When it was all said and done she didnt have cancer but we could tell she was a little shooken up about the whole experience but she started to realize what was important in life. The only problem is we think she has a huge problem with drinking. Our next step with her is to help her quite drinking.
We also have had some amazing improvement with one of our Less Actives. His name is lirio and we were finally able to get him to go to church. He also brought a friend of his that we are also teaching. He is finnally starting to realize the impact he can have in other peoples lives.

Ya I just added that last part "the end :)" I would never write that to president. haha but man one thing that I forgot to write in my last letter was that we have recieve 9 new investigators! 7 of them are related to a member in the church which is very helpful so there relitive can sit in with us. SSOOOOO EEXXCCITTEEEEDDDDD!!!!!!
Ok so just a quite story before I have to get going. So yestarday we were at an investigators house. Their names are claudio and genine. It is nothing with the lesson or anything no of couse not that went great but after wards they always give us a little snake like some juice and crackers or somthing. THIS time they pulled out these 5 big crabs that had probably been taken out of the ocean only a few hours before. Me never haveing eaten crab before kind of just stood there and looked at what lay before me wondering with my mouth half open how in the world to eat in. I mean I have eaten crab before but the meat was already out of the crab. So anyways The woman, Genine, grabs off one of the legs and hands it to me trying to descibe how to eat it. so I take it and kind of just sucked on it not having any idea. She then grabs another trying to show me by example, and starts chewing on it. Or so i thought. So I comenced to start to chew up the shell and all.... bad idea. haha to say the least I was lucky that crab didnt come out a hundered miles an hour landing on Genine. After I saw her finally take the crab leg out of her mouth I felt like an idiot. It wasnt chewed up or anything. What she had done was she worked the meat that was inside the leg with her teethout the the open end where it was broken off. WOW ya I felt a little stupid after that. Once I finally learned how to do it after some trial and error I finally got it!!! I will say that crab has been one of my favorit foods here so far!!!!

Hey family!!
Hey sorry I wasnt able to write on monday. We had some lessons a little bit earlier so we didnt have much time. so we are just doing our emails now.
Just wanted to say to allyall i got to talk to THANKS!!!! It was great to see you all and someone has got to tell me if mom cried after to find out if my impressions were right:) haha sorry mom. But you are look great and thoughs kids are getting so big it is crazy!!
Ok anyways so this week in Angola was just amazing!!! This past week we had a lesson with a new investigator. We got the reference through her sister who is a memeber of the chuch. The investigators name is Irmã Paula. She is an older lady and she has about 8 kids and most of them live with her. (her kids rang from 20 to 33 or so) we are so excited to start teaching her and her family!
but anyways i need to get get and i love you all so much!!!
