ola boa tarde minha querida familia!!!!

Wow ha ha it looks like you all really hooped it up with each other for
thanksgiving! Thanks dad for all the pictures and especially of the
fina burrito!! haha your playing with my heart strings on that one!
Sounds like it is all going well with all of you. Thanks for all your
letters!

So the syber cafe that I am at is not very good so I am not sure how
much I will be able to get off to you, but we will give it a shot. I
loving being in a small mission sometimes because all of the
missionaries can sit in one house to have a thanksgiving meal=0
president and sister Thompson had invited us all over to eat at their
house for our very own feast!! Oh man it really made my week. haha You
know me and food. Other than Thanksgiving, we had a ton of cool things
happen to us this week. I don't know where to start. So to start off, in
the Luanda 1 branch we are redefining the boarders so that all duplas
that work in this branch have a good center of strength area. I bet
you couldn't guess how many investigators we gave up. In total about 11
investigators and 3 menos activos!! Ya, that is a lot of people to say
the least, a few of those were our golden investigators such as
Lourenso and his family. We lost a over half of our investigators...
The thing is this week the Lord has really given us more people to
teach! ya it was supper hard to give them all up, but all of the sudden
we started getting all of the references from the branch and from
other missionaries. It is so cool to see how much the Lord will help
you as long as you are doing your best. The people we have picked up
all seem to know their bible super well. Aamong them is a Jehovah
Whiteness, haha. I am super excited to be working with all these people.
I just wanted to let you all know how thankful I am for all of you.
Being Thanksgiving and all, I might as well let you know that if it weren't
for all of you, I wouldn't be the same person I am today. Thank you so
much mom and dad for raising us in this gospel. Well you all have an
amazing week!!

Dear family

Hey it so great to hear from you all this week. It sounds like everything is kind of slowing down back home again! ha ha! Thanks for all the letters:)

So this week was awesome! We as a mission had a zone meeting and another district meeting of Angolaa with the members. They were both so uplifting spiritually:)

There really wasn't just a whole lot that went on this week to be just totally honest. Oh wait we didn't get robed!!! Thaat's always a plus:) hahaa! During the district conference, I had the wonderful opportunity to sing with the choir:) ha ha! This was probably the most different experience I have ever had in a choir because the majority of the people really had not ever had any singing experience and it almost sounded like screeching:) ha ha! Bless their hearts they sang with all their heart:) I loved it so much!!!! After all the conference, one of my Investigators named Hipilito's told me, "I cant wait to be a mormon" ha ha! He really loved the conference and really wants to be baptised! The sad part is he will be traveling to Nambia for about three weeks, so he won't be getting baptised untill December, but we are still so happy for him:)

Sorry this is a short letter I really dont have much else to write about. I love you all so much and have a great week:)

Dear family,

Wow I really like hearing from you all thanks so much!:) It sounds like things are in full swing with yall and everyone is happy! By the way mom I really with I could have heard you speak! I bet it was so good!

Boy have I got some news for all of you, hahaha! UMMM this is going to a little wierd to explain to I will just say it. So...... I got robed again:) haha Dont anyone freak out or nothing I am totally fine and so is my companion. What happed was we had just gotten out of our last lesson with a less active member named Adilson. We were just walking down this road that was fairly well lit up and a few people around, when all of the sudden 5 or 6 guys came up to us, one with a pistol, saying "da tudo!" holding the pistol sideways like a gangster haha. Once again like the last time the calmness came to me and my companion and we gave them everything while one was pointing a pistol and the other searching our pockets. The spirit just has such a wired way with working in those situations. I feel very blessed and loved by my Father in Heaven for wispering in my ears to keep me calm. In total they got 1 Livro de mormon, some pamphlets and like 5 dollars from me, but gosh dangit I need to go and buy another bag! Really we are fine and nothing happened to us, it was just a little annoying.

So other than that this, it was a very uneventful week. A few days ago we had a zone conference on how to manage our stress and how to deal with it. It was such a cool conference because a man came a spoke to us. I dont know his full name but Elder Hartman. Elder Hartman is a big time psychiatrist that made this thing called the Hartman chart which puts people into 4 different groups based on their personality. It was so cool he had so many insights for us and how we can be better missionaries as well as people. The color personality that I am is a blue with and accent of white:) I dont know if that will mean anythign to anybody:) haha And we also had our mission president from Mozambique come over and speak to us. I loved every min of it. The Lord really does answer our prays through our leaders and other people!

Oh and I have kind of a funny story for you all:) So the same day that we got robbed, we went to go see Hipolito. He is the one that lives over by the church. So Hipolito has a parrot that we allways play a little bit with before our lessons. We had our fun with it so we put it back in its cage so we can start the lesson. We all sat down to say a prayer and the dang thing comes out in the middle of the prayer and starts bitting at my shoelasses jumping up and down squaking:) haha Hipolito Started yelling, "get back in your cage you dang bird" and started chassing it around with the book of mormon pushing it back in its cage. That bird was squakin up a storm:) haha that was by far my favorite interruption I have had out on my mission:)

Well I love you all so much and I just want you all to know that I know God loves us all and he will help us with anything in this life as long as we are worthy to have his holy messenger with us at all time. I love you all and have a great week!

11/5/12

ola minha querida familia!!!

Hey yall!!! I totally lost track of time and didn't realize that Karen was almost done with her mission! Wow, that is so crazy!!! It feels like she just left! and Sean to only has what??? 3 days left! That is truly amazing to think that they are all going to be home soon, then Alec aint't far behind that! It makes me so happy to hear from you all. Thanks so much for the letter and your support.

So this week in the mission has been absolutely one of my favorite weeks of my mission! So as you all know we had our transfer calls last week over email and now I am here in Luaanda 1 C with elder Eckman! I can tell this transfer will be one of my favorits! Elder Eckman and I probably have the closest work ethic on the mission, making it supper easy to get along and to get a ton of work done. This week has been a huge building week for us. The whole configuration of this area is changing for the better. I will admit the work is 10 times harder but the work is far more fulfilling. We have been doing so many contacts and in this week alone we have gotten 3 baptismal dates! Elder Eckman is a lot more experienced as a missionary and in the language especially, so it is extremely nice to have him as a resource to study and what not.

Ok so to finnish up the story from last week. So I already explained how the chapel got robed and what he took so now I need to tell you how we got some of the stuff back. So we have this investigator that lives right next to the chaple. His name is Hipilito's. I have already talked about him awhile back. On the second return of the robber, Hipilito had heard somthing in the middle of the night like around 2 or something like that. So he went out side and saw this guy jump into his yard from the chapel and instantly he knew what it was because we had told him. So he went over and grab the robber and took the one of the speakers from him! ha ha Hipolito is a huge guy so he can handle himself and us missionaries. He was only able to get one speaker from but we are thankfull he got it.
We also got our amplifier back by some miracle too. The president of the branch was walking home from work one day and suddenly he felt a strong feeling to enter into an electric store that was on his way home so he did so. As soon as he entered there sitting on the floor was the amplifier. So he talked to the store owner and he let president take it back to the chapel without any cost! It was just such a miricle because that weekend we were going to watch general conference and we would have had no way to watch it.. It is just so interesting how the Lord's works to bring to pass his will.

So that same Hipilito has a baptismal date for the 12th of November. So here in not to long, we will have a baptism! I am so excited for him. He is one of the most prepared people i know. The other two were with Irmão lourenso and his wife Veronica. They made a commitment to get married in December so that they could get all the money together and what not and they will be baptized in January! I am convinced that Lourenso will be the the first patriarch here in Angola:)

Well hey yall I love you so much and I hope you have a great week!
